The first film in The Mortal Instruments series, "City of Bones" is now in pre-production for an August, 2012 start date in New York and Toronto. The casting director has begun auditions for the film's starring roles, and aside from the lead role of Clary Fray, all major parts are up for grabs. Lily Collins has signed on to the starring role, but Jamie Campbell Bower has dropped out of the project in the role of Jace. All major roles are being cast out of Los Angeles, New york, and Toronto - extras will be cast in New York and Toronto.
