Aspiring actors, who are serious about their craft, will once again have an opportunity of a lifetime to breakthrough and get discovered. Launched in 2009 as part of the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), the goal of the Star Project is to provide a platform to spotlight talented, yet undiscovered actors, while supporting their career advancement. Each year, one male and one female thespian are selected as Grand-Prize winners.

NBC Universal and The People's Improv Theater (aka The PIT) in New York City will offer two full-ride scholarships to students with strong performance skills to study the craft of improvisation at The PIT. NBC Universal and The PIT will each sponsor one student for the entire year-long program, from Level 1 through Level 5.
