Thousands of extras to be cast as filming begins on 'Marvel’s The Avengers'

Walt Disney co-owned Marvel Studios has begun production on the superhero blockbuster film "Marvel’s The Avengers". There will be ongoing casting for day players, extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles in Albuquerque, Cleveland, and New York City throughout the entire production which will run through September 2010.

Production has commenced today in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Marvel Studios' highly anticipated movie "Marvel's The Avengers," directed by Joss Whedon ("Serenity") from a screenplay by Whedon. The film will continue principal photography in Cleveland, Ohio and New York City.
