Walt Disney Pictures is in pre-production for the live-action feature film "John Carter of Mars", which is an adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs 11-volume Barsoom book series. "John Carter of Mars" is part one of a film trilogy, and will be based on just the first novel. Filming will begin in January, 2010, and will take place in Utah, Texas (Austin), and the UK.

Casting Directors Nancy Green-Keyes and Matthew Barry are currently looking for two adult twenty-something male leads to co-star in the upcoming feature film "Vengeance: A Love Story". The film is about four rapists who escape conviction, and a police officer that seeks vengeance on behalf of the victim. The film already has signed on Samuel L. Jackson, Abigail Breslin, Dianne Wiest, and Heather Graham.




 
 

The new Disney XD series "I'm In The Band" is in production and currently casting principal actors and extras. The project, from creators Michael Kaplan and Ron Rappaport, will air in 2010 on Disney XD, which launched back in February, 2009. Summit Entertainment has acquired the right from Stephenie Meyer to film and distribute Breaking Dawn, the fourth novel in her series. Breaking Dawn is in the early pre-production stages. Sources say that Breaking Dawn will be filmed and released in two parts - "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I", and "Part II". This has not been confirmed officially by Summit, however author Stephenie Meyer has stated "it would have to be made into multiple movies because it's hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes". "Breaking Dawn: Part I" should start shooting in early 2010, with a release scheduled for 2011.

Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are currently conducting an international talent search for an 8-10 year old girl and a 13-16 year old boy to star in the upcoming big screen movie "The Smurfs". "The Smurfs" will be a live action/animated hybrid film and will be released in 3D and 2D formats on Dec. 17, 2010.




 
 
New Disney Channel series "Good Luck Charlie" auditionsThe new Disney Channel original live-action multi-camera sitcom "Good Luck Charlie" has started production and casting for guest stars, day players, and extras is underway.
